A few months ago I read an ad in my local newspaper for an incredible deal on a Honda. The ad gave the cars VIN number so I thought it was genuine, I called the dealership (Stockton to Malone HOnda, Sandy, UT) and asked the salesperson if the car was still available. He said it was. So within 10 minutes I arrived at the dealership, located the salesperson with whom I spoke on the phone and asked to see the car. He told me that it just sold and the successful buyer just left with it — all within 10 minutes. He then proceeded to try to sell me another car that cost $1,800 more than the car I called about. Angered, I walked out of the dealership.
Later that day I had someone call the dealership on the same ad and car. The salesperson said the car was still available but to hurry down if she wanted to buy it.
Classical bait and switch. Shame! Shame! Shame! On John Stockton, Karl Malone, and Larry Miller!!
