Yates Whatever It Takes (Mr. Eddie Lopez)
Deceptive, Unprofessional, Unethical, Liars, Cheaters and Down Right Dirty! Yates Whatever It Takes is definitely the correct name!

I have been dealing with Yates in Tyler since July 21. When I first met Sheldon, the sales representative, my mother and I were overwhelmed with his kindness and what we thought his integrity. (This car loan is for me to due to credit issues that I am having) My mother was approved for a vehicle and because she had an "Open Car Loan" they said she needed a co-signer, which would be my sister-in-law. We finally chose the car and were very satisfied with the 2006 Cadillac CTS. There were a few minor things that they promised would be fixed and other than that everything was fine.
My mother and sister-in-law needed a few things to turn in to complete this car loan. Things like check stubs, proof of income and proof of residence. My mother turned in everything promptly, but sister-in-law had some delays due to her newborn taking a sudden illness. This however, did not stop the sale of the vehicle and the request of the $3000.00 down payment, which after receiving this, turned over the keys to the vehicle.
To make a long story even shorter, Sheldon called and reminded us that we needed to hurry and get those requested documents from my sister-in-law. My sister-in-law, being self-employed could not find her 2007 tax records and could only at the time find her 2006. Sheldon said that would be fine and if it was a problem that he would try to work around it. On Monday, he called and said that the 2006 document didn't work but we had time to still get the 2007 in. He also said that my sister-in-law needed to call in and do an over the phone interview with the bank to complete the loan. I informed him that she was painting and wouldn't be able to call until later. Sheldon stated that this needed to be done quickly and he also found out that he needed that tax form the same day as well. I asked him how come all of sudden it was needed so quickly he hesitated for a moment and then replied very softly " I got to have that in today so I can get paid on my commission for this month", "If I don't it won't be until next month". I told him that I didn't know what he wanted me to do because she was at work. He said I need you to go online and get her tax information. He also said that he had all of my sister's information and he would give it to me to look up online. He also stated that I could do her over the phone interview as well because customers do this all the time. He gave me her information and I called into the bank. After feeling very uncomfortable I disconnected the call and called Yates back.
After informing Sheldon that I wasn't going to do this and that he would have to wait for my sister, he put me on hold and came back and said the deal had been "kicked" back. I asked him why and he said because we took too long to get the documents they requested. After letting him know how unethical this was he turned me over to his finance manager that informed me of the same thing. I explained to him what Sheldon had me to do and he told me that I was lying and that I needed to bring back the car and that I might get my down payment back.
I then asked to speak with General Manager, Mr. Lopez, who was a bigger jerk than anyone I had spoken with that day. He told me that his sales reps don't do things like and that I could possibly cause them to lose their jobs. He kept laughing and making smart remarks that I should have played along with the game and that his sales reps were only trying to help me. I hung up in his face.
My mother whom was very upset about the entire ordeal called the bank and asked them what happened to make the deal go bad. Stephen the representative she spoke said that the deal had not gone bad and that we needed to speak with Yates to find out why they said any of this.
The long and short of this is Yates Whatever It Takes are complete liars and scoundrels. It hurts me very deeply to see people like this deceive consumers and have no problem or remorse at doing this. These people also knew that the vehicle was for me and that my mom and sister-in-law were just trying to help. When the bank asked my mom who would be driving and she told them me, Bill the finance manager, Sheldon the sales rep and Eddie Lopez the General Manager informed me that she wasn't supposed to do this and they thought she had enough sense not to say that.
