I can't substantiate a "bait and switch" situation, but that's how I feel I was treated.
I was quoted a price on the phone and again in person. I agreed to the price. I'm used to paying up front for service, so I tried handing the employee my credit card twice, but he advised they prefer to charge after the service. Not an issue at the time, but it now seems interesting after what happened to me.
After waiting for 40 min the manager came out (not the person I was dealing with initially) and went up $80 in cost. The manager blamed the original employee for making a mistake and claimed he was giving me a deal by only increasing my cost $80.
I lost my temper a bit and feel regret for that. However, even reasonable people get upset when they feel cheated out of money and valuable time.
No real effort was made to rectify the situation. I decided to have them put the car back together and leave.
I did buy tires the same day at a different company. I paid the same as this companies original quote for what I was told is a comprable tire.
