Complaint / Review
Les Schwab
Confusing warranty "policy", incomplete work

Paid for a lift on my vehicle. Found out the bolts on the transfer case drop were not all tightened. I also paid for an alignment, and the thing had "death wobbles" (terrifying front end shimmy/shake at highway speed that makes you think the whole vehicle was going to flip.)

When I returned, they said it was not warranteed because of an aftermarket upgrade that was on the vehicle and they were not allowed to work on my vehicle with it on there. Well, the problem was, that upgrade was on the vehicle when they put installed the lift kit and supposedly did the alignment!

But to top it off, the tech Steve, gives me a "service bulletin" for my vehicle saying that was the problem and to take it to the dealer. Well, the thing is the vehicle NEVER had a stability problem until Les Schwab worked on it!

When I complained to someone I know that worked at another Les Schwab store, I was told "oh, don't ever go to the Oroville store" (along with some other narrative that I don't wish to repeat.)

So, after this experience (my second back Les Schwab experience... The first was them breaking a wheel stud and never telling me), I now avoid ALL Les Schwab centers. They are so profit motivated they will not admit/fix something that is their own fault.

In the end, another shop determined that the vehicle had not been properly aligned after the installation of the lift kit, and after they aligned it, the terrifying shimmy and shakes had went away.
