Sold me a lemon and refused to pay me

After completing the paperwork for a 2004 Ford Explorer one of the salesmen were going to put gas in the vehicle for me and noticed that the headlights did not work. After further investigation he found that the wiring harness for the headlights had been cut. The Salesman (Eric) that actually sold me the car was complaining about being late to take his girlfriend out. I was frustrated and disappointed and so was Eric.

He originally wanted me to just come back on Monday since it was so late on a Saturday. I reminded him that I live over Three hours away and just told him that we could just terminate the deal on the truck. Eric did not want me to get my down payment back but he said he could not have another car off the lot with out having the papers done on it. He printed up the paper on a 2006 Magnum and told me to hold the papers for both cars cause we knew that I was getting the Explorer. He said to take the Magnum and that the problem with the headlights on the Explorer will be fixed by Wednesday.

I called on that Tuesday to check the progress on the Explorer. Eric asked me why don't I consider the Magnum. I told him that I didnt want the Magnum I wanted the Explorer. Also that the Magnum was Smoking when it cranked up. Eric sounded like he got upset and said that the Explorer may cost too much for them to fix. He also said that if I didn't want the Magnum that I needed to bring it back to keep the miles down. I brought it back and they put me in an old Ford Sport Trac and told me they will have a truck for me the following week.

When I came back the following week they had a Durango. I test drove it and when I came back from the test drive and said I wanted the Durango they said it was sold. The owner said they will have another Durango on Tuesday. I headed back to Albany I told the owner (Gregg) that I can't afford to keep driving back and forth and it was costing me almost two hundred dollars and I was coming back and forth every week.

About thirty minutes after I left on my way back down to Albany Gregg called me and told me that the Durango was at the other dealership and would I go up and get it. I told him that I was late for work and if I did go to the other dealership he would have to promise to buy the gas and he said he would. When I made it to the other dealership (Elite Motors) The Durango I went to pick up would not start they said ithere was a problem with the aftermarket alarm. That was a trip for nothing. I went back home to Albany in that Sport Trac.

Greg called me the following week and told me that the Durango was ready for me to pick up. The Salesman called me back and reminded me that by then I had a pick-up payment. I asked him how was I making a pick-up payment on a car that I will never own and have not driventhe other Durango. He said we will deal with that when I get there.

When I got there the other Durango had finally been brought to the dealership. When I got there and drove the Durango I said I would take it. There was an additional three thousand dollars added on. I told them that I could not afford that. He then showed me a Pontiac G6. I told him (Gregg) that I would take the Pontiac if he changed the oil, since the change oil light was on. He got upset an said he would not change the oil and I told him that I didnt want to buy a vehicle that I have to change the oil and that he could atleast do that for as much as I have been up and down the road. I guess he was being sarcastic and said that if I drove back next week he would change the oil. I told him that did not make sense for me to buy almos two hundred dollars to get a twenty dollar oil change. They both (Gregg and Eric) were very upset. Gregg came out of his office and gave me five hundred dollars and left me to get back to Albany the best way I can.

I was in shock that my family and I was over three hours away from home with no way to get there. When I got home I thought about the gas money that Gregg promised to pay me, he must have forgot. I made several attempts by phone and internet to no avail. Even I never get my money back I want to make sure that no one else have to go through the same ordeal.
