Wanted to trade in 02 durango if they could get my payments lower and it not cost me anything out of pocket. I told them that I had negative eguity in the durango and much to my surprise they said they could help me.
They showed me an 01 sequoia which I loved but the price was more than the durango cost so I knew my payments couldn't be lower. They asked for my husbands and mine SS # which I gave and they asked me to have a seat in the reception area while they work the numbers.
The salesman came back said he could get me the sequoia for $100 less than I was paying on the durango. I asked him how, which I know was silly, but he said their manager was great and how alot of clout with the corp. So I said okay, who was I to argue?
They did let me purchase the sequoia in my name, even though I told them I didnot have an income and they used my household income which was adequate.
My husband kept noticing on our Chase account that the durango was not paid off. We both repeatedly called the salesman and he kept saying it would be taken care of blah, blah, blah. After 6 weeks, my husband emailed the GM of the dealership to ask when it would be paid off.
The GM called me and basically said I deceived the dealership into believing the durango was paid off, etc... I told him I did not like his tone and was contacting my lawyer.
We are now in litigation and this GM has made numerous accusations about myself. He continually twists events and conversations around to a point I can't believe he is for real.
The fact that my husband and I continually contacted the dealership about the durango payoff shows we had no intention of deceiving them. We are now making payments on both vehicles and they will not release the durango.
