My husband and I went to Beaverton Toyota to look at Prius', we were told that they only had one to look at and test drive only, for they were all out of Prius', this one was a loner car. We took it for a drive and came back in and lo and behold there is a used Prius, so we drove it and liked it. Kerry Baldwin who was the saleman said let's talk numbers. We had a 1993 GMC Serria to trade in. The truck had very low miles for it's age and in very good shape. Toyota to a look at it and said we will whole sale it so all we can give you is 1500 if it was staying on the lot we would give you more, which it did and the priced it for 7,000 and it booked only for 4500 (kelly). I took it in and had it detailed myself. So no need for that cost to them. Later the truck sold for 4800 and Kerry told me that he knew for a fact it sold for only 3500, but the couple that bought it called us and told us they bought for the 4800.
Back to the Prius. I wanted to used the Costco auto club that they belong to but I was told that I couldn't so we lost out on that. I let costco know this and they are looking into it for me. They showed us the price from KBB for 22k but marked it up to 26k. The car is an 06 and had 26,000 miles and it is a pkg. 6. When you try to ask questions they evade them and get you on to other matter's. When it was time to go see the Finance guy Wes Ruby that was a ordeal in itself we didn't get out of there until after 11pm. Wes was the last guy to apply the screws to us (whom are inexperienced) we were getting the car at one price and interest rate for so many years but when Wes was done with us the price on the car went up and so did the inerest rate and another year longer to pay for. The interest rate we got is awful when I have a credit score of over 750. We were kept there late to ware us down so they got the better deal not us.
I understand that they are tring to make a living but We are tring to live to. Selling cars is a crap shoot so if you want to live get a job that pay's by the hour or salary. When salesman cheat people they stop going to the dealerships. I would never go back there again nor would I recommand this dealership to anyone.
