Hello Everyone! This message is to warn all those ready to purchase services or conduct business with Woodfield Lexus, Better known as the Resnickautogroup empire.
The story all starts when I was in need of a routine breakjob on my 2004 lExus RX330 With 60,000 miles, the pads had just started to begin squeaking and wanted to take the car in as soon as possible before any rotor damage had been done.
I sat down with a consultant named "Ed", he quoted me the job on a piece of scratchpaper that had about 10 other quotes and drawings on the yellow notepad, he advised me the routine maintenance job would cost me approximately $370.00 dollars Total. However Ed advised if rotors were needed to be replaced it would cost upwards to around $700 or 800 dollars, I thought to myself rotors will not be needed as the squeaking just started a few days prior.
The consultant "Ed" advised either way if the rotors were needed he would call and advise me before changing rotors, otherwise I should expect the quote of $370 Total for the Total brake Job. I agreed with the quote and left to run some errands with a loaner car. I got a phone call from ed about an hour later advising me the job was done, I asked Ed if Rotors were needed? He advised NO only the agreed work was done assuming the $370 Quote.
I proceeded back to Woodfield Lexus to pick up my car to find out the Bill was $790 Dollars!!! I asked to speak with a manager, and the same consultant "Ed" was called to address the situation... I asked Ed what this was all about??? He advised me "Oh that quote I gave was only for the front brakes, we replaced both front and back... I advised Ed..."You told me the total cost of the brake job would cost be approximately $370 and upwards to around 700-800 if rotors were needed? Did you replace my rotors?"he advised NO, we didnt"!
I had no other choice but to pay this $790 dollar brake job to get my car back...
3 days later I got a Survey mail from Woodfield lexus & resnickautogroup owner of Woodfield Lexus inquiring about my service experience there.in the mail was a sentence from the service manager stating "We Will do ANYTHING to satisfy you if you were Unsatisfied for any reason!"
I called the manager at Woodfield lexus explaining the situation, He basically called me a liar and said none of his consultants would lie to a customer about a quote, I got absolutely no where with him, he was very rude... So I called the owner of Resnick autogroup Jerry Resnick, he never even returned my phone call...
I called my bank to dispute the Bill, they advised me all I would have to do is provide 3 quotes from accredited agencies that are licensed to do the same work, I went to Merlin and got a quote for $315, went to Meineke and got a quote for $343, then went to Pep Boys and got a quote for $326, all quotes for front and back Brakes.
This dispute went on for about a month and I was told in the end I would have to accept the bill for the $790 Brake Job and there was nothing they could do further.
I just wanted to add a tidbit to this article, Upon request I can provide at least 7 VIN#'s showing my name as the primary owner of Lexus automobiles so its not like I am A Newbie to Lexus Service!!! At least now I know I have learned a lesson to never purchase an Automobile from Woodfield Lexus or Resnickautogroup based on their Service products...
My point of this article is not to complain about the cost of a $790 Brake job, but the fact that I was lied to and Misquoted... This company can care less about people or consumers, all they would have had to do to make this right would be to honor the $370 dollar quote that was quoted to me and refund me the difference just like thier letter said ""We Will do ANYTHING to satisfy you if you were Unsatisfied for any reason!"... Now hopefully this article will just create Bad Marketing and Bad Business for Woodfield Lexus and Resnickautogroup.com.
