Shaver Auto Center
Uneducated, lying dealer, shaddy!

My husband and I saw an ad in the Auto Trader for a 2007 Dodge Magnum for $15,997. When we got there, after waiting for about 20 minutes, the sales girl Stephanie, pulled the car out and began her sales speech. I notice the window had $20,997 painted on it. My husband notice that there was water / condensation the rear taillight. I showed her the Auto Trader ad and she double checked the stock numbers, they matched, then she said she would have to ask if they could sale the car for that much.

We test drove the car and my husband wanted to go ahead and try to see about the price and buying it. We went inside and waited for about 20 minutes again for her to get the approval to sale the car at the advertised price. But we were told that the Shaver Protection Package was already on the car and that it cost $3,000 so the cars price was $18,997, no exceptions. And the taillight had to be fixed through the factory warranty at a Dodge dealer, so after buying the car we could take it there.

We traded in our vehicle, which they gave us a fair price, and after talking us into a larger down payment than we were comfortable with, (told us not to make our car payment that was due on that same day, but to put that money towards the down) we went ahead and told them to make the deal.

Once in finance we were charged the 15,997 for the car 1,540 for an alarm and 1,540 for the interior/exterior protection along with 179 for the Nitrogen filled tires and we were told we need the extended warranty because the factory one was almost up, which was another 1,695, plus our 2,258 in negative equity from the trade. We were expecting 21,000 plus tax and lic and ended up with about 22,000 plus tax and lic, all at 15.99% interest. WOW! So my husband signed all the papers and we got the ONE key to our car and we left.

On the way home he turned on the a/c and little neon green and pink paint chips started flying all over the place (from the paint they scrapped off the windshield). After dropping my husband off at work I called Stephanie to see if they would clean up all the paint on the inside of the car, she told me to bring it back. I brought it back and waited for almost 2 hours. While waiting I asked Stephanie why we didn't get any fobs to the alarm system and she said our car doesn't come with them. When I got in the car they had done a horrible job, I could've paid my 7 year old niece to do a better job. I was so tired and irritated I just went home.

When I got home I called Shaver and spoke with a different sales man and asked about the alarm, he told me we had to bring the car into service so they could install it. So the alarm had never been installed!!! He told me to call back on Monday to make an appointment.

Monday morning I called and made an appointment to bring the car in and was told it would have to be there all day so they could apply the interior and exterior scotch guard stuff and install the alarm (the stuff we were told was already on the car so we would have to pay for it no matter what). I called and spoke with the sales manager and he told me no the service department is wrong it already is on your car. I didn't know what to believe and kept getting the run around!

Five days later Monique (from finance) called us and said they got an approval from the bank but needed to change one thing in the contract and re sign, when we asked what needed to be changed she said she couldn't tell us and that we had to come in today.

So we drove down there waited for 30 minutes, and then she took us in the office and said we had to take the trade out of the deal or put another 4,200 down on top of the 1,000 we already had. We had no choice but to let them unwind the deal.

After my husband signed all the papers she gave one of our checks back (we wrote two for 500 each one was postdated) and she said they had deposited the other one and once it cleared our bank to fax them over proof and then they would cut us a check and we would have to come back to pick it up. I asked her if she could double check with accounting because we needed that 500 to make our car payment since it was already about a week late. Monique told me that she would call us when they got back from lunch. While we were inside someone had hit the car they just took back from us and messed up the rear bumper.

The next day I faxed Shaver a copy of the returned check from our bank, along with an account history print out, with our balances blacked out (as far as I am concerned they have no business knowing how much money we have in our account). I sent it at 8:30 and Monique said that my husband could pick up a check after 3:00 pm.

At 3:30pm my husband received a call from Monique saying that she needed our banks number to call and verify that the check cleared or to send her another printout with all the balances. My husband told her to call and speak with me, which she didn't.

I called Shaver and spoke with Robert and he said if I faxed it over now then I could get a check TOMORROW after 3:00pm. I asked why Monique had waited until this late to call and ask for something else and now we have to wait another day to get our check and it is hard for us to get to San Bernardino.

I faxed over another copy but with our balance showing about an hour ago and still no word, so I guess we will see what happens.
