Gail Jennings (owner of Jennings Transportation Inc.) fired me unfairly, she jumped the gun and got a big headed and full of herself. I was hired as a "PART TIME" driver
i was not assigned a truck, i was to sit at home untill they had a run for me. Then if i was able to take the run, i would, if i was unable then that was ok also, being as how i was "part time".
I had informed Robert Jennings (VP) and Billy Moore (dipatcher) of the fact i would not be able to take any loads for the next week, due to a out of town trip. Well 2 days later Gail Jennings called my home (at which time i was asleep becouse i stayed up all night with my 3yr old daughter who was having nightmares and had told my wife not to wake me) and spoke with my wife who informed her i would not be taking any loads. At which time Gale J. Became outraged and chewed my wife out well after so long my wife woke me up (in tears) saying that Gail told her that i was going to be fired.
So i grabbed the phone and was told that i had one hour to get my A* out of bed
and take her load or i was fired!!! Well i felt this was not respectful and totally uncalled for so i called back in to my office manager (45min later) Troy T. And was informed that i was probally fired. So i bit my lip and went on.
Monday i went in and was informed i was fired. After that i had emailed with Gail J. And told her the whole story, then she had the nerv to tell me this could of all not happend if i would have told her that i was leaving also, i have never in the 11 months i have worked there had to report anything to Gail. She admited in one of the emails that her office does have bad communication skills...
So if you are looking for employment and are thinking Jennings Transportation think twice, here is some other info on them, they pay on a 1099 to "Company" drivers, (which i belive is illegal).. They ask you to run illegal to get loads there on time, and will have you correct logs to look good for the dot.
