My 80 year old Mother-in-Law brought her car in because she saw a big puddle underneath in the parking lot. Alec (or Alex) at Woodlands Shell told her that her oil pan and her transmission were leaking. Fixing the leaks would cost over $500.
I called and spoke to Alec to ask if she could make it to her apartment, literally across the street. He said he didn't think so, that with the car on, transmission fluid was "pouring out as we watch." That's a direct quote.
We got the car back to her apartment anyway. When I went over two days later to check it out (planning to replace the gaskets myself), there was NO LEAK. No drips on the ground underneath at all. Oil was full. Transmission fluid was no more than half a pint low.
No fluid came out with the engine on or off. This guy tried to rip off an 80 year old women, living on a very small fixed income. I will be filing official fraud complaints in the morning. DO NOT give your business to Woodlands Shell.
