Held Funds, Repo'd Car, Arrogant and Rude Cust Service

Back in May, my 4-year lease for my Dodge Grand Caravan was up, at that time we decided to purchase the vehicle from Dodge. We sent in our paperwork for purchase in April, and were not notified if it was accepted/approved and what the monthly amount would be. My husband called on May 1, spoke with a Jennifer Moore, and was advised the amount would be $238/month and that she would send out the paperwork for us to sign. We received the paperwork, asking us to sign lease agreement, notarized, copy of license & insurance. This was all sent back to her via the FedEx she provided. I then received a call advising us that the notary we sent was invalid because it was done in PA and not NJ. I went and had the notary redone, and sent that in as well. I received another call weeks later saying that I needed to supply a new insurance card, because mine was expiring in July. I again, sent that in. I was advised again by phone that I needed to send in payment for June, check sent $238.91 check 1250. This of course, had dragged into July and I received a letter in the mail saying I was in default for the car. I contacted Chrysler (I was out of the country when the letter was received) was told I needed to send in July's payment, which I did. I advised Bindu Morimano by phone that I was out of the country and would send in when I returned home. Check 1278 for $238.91 was sent 8/7/06. I received another call late August advising I needed to send in August's payment, again I still havent received any paperwork. Being that it was late in the month, I sent in payment for August & September. Check #1288 for $476 was sent 8/30. After this, I received nothing else by mail, nor any messages were received from your company.

On Sept 13, I received a FedEx package in the mail with 2 of my 3 checks, uncashed and nothing else in the envelope. I called the number on the FedEx, a Stephanie Brewer and left a message to find out what was going on. She didn't call back; I left another on Sept 14th for the same person. Again nothing. On Sept 17th, at 230am, Stealth Recovery repossessed my car. I called Monday morning to Chrysler and was told by Bindu that she had called and left me messages, which I never received, I advised her I got no notification via mail or FedEx other then the checks, and she told me she could no longer help me to contact Redemption. I called Redemption, they told me to call back in 24 hours they had no information on my car at all yet. Called back on 9/19, was told to call Stealth so that I could get my possessions out of the vehicle, but they still had no monetary info for me, to call back again tomorrow. Stealth advised me their driver had the car, to call him, did so for 3 days, nobody called back. Called Chrysler again 9/20 spoke to a Mark Harper, who I explained all the above to, and he told me he could not help me, that I didn't do what I was told, and that basically I should learn how to read, he was rude and unhelpful. He told me to call redemption again. Again called redemption spoke to Lucinda, she told me again she had no information on my account to call back in a few days. Here it is Friday 9/22. Stealth never called me back, finally got the driver on the phone, car on the way to storage, my possessions still in car will be mailed to me they claim. Somehow I doubt that (never was). Called Redemption again, was told my car is not even in repo status and to call the Loan department again. I am dreading the call. Called and spoke to Ryan, who advised me that he didn't know what to tell me, that I'd already been told by Mr. Harper what to do. Which was call redemption. They know nothing. I have been pushed from department to department, nobody knowing anything about my car, how much I owe, where it was, how to get my things from it.

I had been a lessee with Chrysler for over 10 years, and with Ford & Wells Fargo prior to that and I've never had such issues with a car or a lease. The staff at the facility is unorganized, rude and unhelpful to get me where I need to be. If I had been given, in writing, what was required to be sent in detail in May, none of this would even be an issue. Was not aware notary had to be in NJ, where I no longer live, was not aware that the payments needed to be sent as well, having never received a statement or even knowing the amount of the lease? However, all payments were sent. None of which were cashed.

I wrote letters and left messages to be contacted, all unanswered. My understanding from Stealth is that it is going into storage in Philadelphia somewhere, after that, nobody knows. I have already reported this department to the BBB, to let them know the dealings of this department, and based on the complaints I've seen online, I am not the first. Nothing was resolved, my items from car never returned, nobody ever called me back. I am now getting a bill/calls from credit collection agency for $9K on a Minivan that wasnt even worth that much. Reason being we were way over mileage hence the reason I was going to buy it instead of paying the mileage.

I will NEVER do business w/Chrysler nor EVER purchase another one of their vehicles. They are the worst company to work with. The customer service people are clueless, rude, obnoxious and they held my payments didn't cash them and then repo'd me... For what? Now they sold the vehicle, and want $9K from me... The vehicle wasnt even worth that.
