My father, who is 90 years old, received numerous phone call solicitations to purchase an auto warranty from Royal Protection... He told me he felt pressured to buy it... The plan he purchased was for 7 years and cost
$1691.00... He agreed with me that he really didn't need the plan so we wrote up a cancellation letter and returned the warranty policy to Royal on 10/31/07 via certified mail... We were told it was received and that a
refund check would be sent within 10 to 12 weeks... When it did not come, I spoke with Brett in the Refunds Dept. Several times and he assured me the check was "on it's way"... My last conversation with Brett was
approximately 10 days ago and he admitted to me that the check was never sent... He stated that my Father's check was in a stack "waiting to be endorsed"... Noting that this company has been reported here for a similar situation and finding the owner's name (Michael Shaftel) and his office phone number and cell number, I called both... It has been 7 days and no return phone call... There is no reason that this company should be holding back my Father's refund. This is a fraudulent practice and people need to be aware of them.
