Well back in 2003 i bought a car from nissan 46 in totowa... At the time i was 8 months pregnant and the car that I had died, so I had to get a new one... Now, at the time when I got my car, i was not given a choice (I know bad move on me, but i was desperate) They told me i had to take this kia sephia or nothing, and since i was working full time, i agreed... Yeah, well i paid for it... The car was a lemon from day one... After maybe a month after having the car, everything went on it, the fly wheel, the starter, the alternator, the batter (obviously), etc. It was terrible. I had contacted the BBB, the place where I got the car AND drive financial... After 3-4 months of torture, the place where I got the car agreed to fix it (just because the manager was my friends brother) Now, just to let you know, when they gave me the car, they told me it had new brakes, oil change. Etc... When I went to have the brakes checked 2 months later after getting the car back, cause they were squealing like crazy, the rotors literally fell off, that's how thin they were. The guy who did them showed them to me and said he could not believe they let me drive away from the dealership like that. So anyway, through the whole time, i contacted drive financial to keep them in the loop of what was going on with the car, it was obvious, I was sold a lemon... When i tell u everything that could have went wrong with the car did. I had put thousands of dollars into a car that was a piece of junk. I made several complaints with the BBB and Drive (who acted like they were concerned). I even had soo many recalls on the car (no wonder they do not make the sephia anymore)
I had the car for 2 years and out of the 2 years of having it, it maybe drove for 5 months out of the 2 years... The last year that i had it, it just completly stopped working all together. When i had different mechanics (including a kia dealership) look at it, they said that it was not worth fixing, that it would cost me about 3-4 thousand dollars and the car was not worth it, it would be better to buy another car for that amount. So right away called Drive explained everything... And yes some of their reps are NASTY!!! I finally said I am not paying for the car anymore, i had another year on it. I said that i refuse to have the car fixed when having it fixed is more than the blue book value. And I can not afford the payments and get a new car... Basically i am not paying for a car that doesn't work... Soooooo I volutary gave the car back, which sat on the street for months... Even the people who came to tow the car agreed that i got ripped off. They couldn't even get the car on the bed cause NOTHING worked... I contacted Drive back in 2006 and I figured we came to an agreement and that the debt would be cleared and that was THAT... TODAY, I got served a letter that I have to go to court for Drive Financial and Palisades Collection. And anyone who knows Palisades, knows they are a SCAM!!! Can you imagine 2 years later, never heard a word and now they are suing me??? You better believe I will be going to court. I am beside myself... And here is the best part, I pulled my credit the other day, and Drive Financial was still showing up (wasn't updated since 2006) so i was going to contact them, anyway, the amount that it showed i owed is WAY different then the amount on the lawsuit papers... I find that to be paticularly funny. So i know there are many of you out there who are experiencing this hell... Any and all advice is welcomed... Palisades is a bad bad rip off company... And for drive to partner up with them, just makes them look even worse... What scammers!!
