On February 26 my wife and I took my Van in because of noise when braking. We were told that the charges would most likely be in the range of $105.00. We left the van, I went to work, and my Wife went home.
Later on that afternoon my Wife received a call from Just brakes telling her that we were very lucky that we made it to their store without having a serious accident. She was told that the rear brakes were leaking, the front brakes needed a lot of work, and that the cost would now be $983.36.
Since that is the only car we have my wife consented to have it fixed.
My Wife had driven our Van to Arlington to visit a friend who was hospitalized on the night of February 25th and before that we had not heard a grinding noise. She left the van at the hospital that night and we took it to Just Brakes the next morning. There are no brake fluid stains on my driveway that would most certainly be present if I had a leak on my rear brakes. My Brake fluid was also at an acceptable level.
I have paid the $983.36 but I feel that some of the charges such as $ 42.50 for rear return springs, $15.00 for a caliper bolt, $53.88 for a disc pad $46.00 for labor to replace it is a little too high.
I would recommend to anyone with Brake problems to stay away from Just Brakes! I know I won't do business with them again.
