I went to JUST BRAKES on Feb. 8 2008 to get the $99.00 special. They were very nice and said the total should come to about $105 with the tax.
Then they took the brakes apart.
Soon I was told the charge for repair would be $400 tax. They seemed very concerned that the front disks were rusty. When I was unconcerned they showed me that one of my rear brake cylinders was leaking. (any wheel cylinder will leak fluid once the shoes and springs are removed) I pointed out that the cylinder couldn't have been leaking when I brought it in because there was no evidence of brake fluid on the inside of the tires.
Even with my brakes dismantled I wasn't going for $400.
In fairness to JUST BRAKES they put my brakes back together and returned the car at no charge.
I'm writing to warn people that the $99 charge is a come on and Robert was happy to make up problems to try and get a high price for unnecessary repairs. I belive that most people would be intimidated by the hard sell and pay. My advice: Avoid the place.
