My recent experience with glenbrook dodge was disheartening to say the least. It started with me just simply shopping for used dodge diesels, driving by one caught my eye. I stopped, liked the truck, test drove it, and went inside to negotiate. We reached an agreement on price, trade in value, and even financing terms.By this time it was late at night and starting to snow. Since im not one to jump into deals, we went home to sleep on it.
The next day we went back to see it in the daylight with a clear head. We found several things we had not noticed the previous night, including a steering stabilizer that was completely missing. We asked the sales manager if they would be willing to correct the problems, since they were serious problems not assosciated with normal use. They said the problems were not a big deal, and assured me that the truck had been through a 150 point inspection before being offered for sale. I then respectfully declined the purchase, and continued my shopping. The salesman i was working with called me the next day and said they had realized their error, and were in fact willing to replace the steering stabilizer, and fix the other problems with the truck. I told him pending those things being fixed, they had a done deal, i then was placed on the line with the sales manager and repeated the same. I was assured the deal was done. We had a verbal agreement.
Two days later the salesman called me to tell me the truck had been sold the night before. Apparently they took the truck to their service department, ordered the parts, then put the truck back on the lot for sale. Some poor sap bought a truck that is not safe. Im no dot safety expert, but i do have common sense. That truck is not safe and should have been fixed, before it was ever even offered for sale. Needless to say i will not even consider buying anything from them, and will give them a bad review at every chance.
