Complaint / Review
Toyota Motor Credit Corporation
Breach of contract and violating connecticut unfair trade practices

My Scion TC 2006 was repoed 1/7/08. No notice was sent.

On 1/10/08 Toyota Motor Credit Corporation sent a letter entitled "Notice of Our Plan to Sell Property" by certified mail to the co-buyer and my self. On the contract there was an option to redeem the car.

The co-buyer and the I agreed to the terms to redeem the car for the amount set forth on the contract, amount totaling $7,287.83 including finance charges and the retaking fees, in plain black and white.

To confrim this we both called TMCC (Toyota Motor Credit Coporation) agreeing to redeem the vehicle and the steps needed to take. They confirm the amount of $7,287.83 was due to redeem the car and storage fees were sepearate, to be paid when picking up the vehicle.in total the cobuyer and myself talked with 7 employee in the reinstatemnt department. 5 of which confrimed the amount owed to redeem.

On 1/28/08 before deadline we sent the $7,287.83 to TMCC, via Western Union Quick Collect and they received it. The cobuyer spoke to 2 employees at TMCC before sending the money to get the correct codes to send it by Western Union.

After sending the money the cobuyer called to give TMCC the control number and the address to go and pick the car up. They kept her on hold for appr. 30 min.
Once returing they said they would not release car due to an mistake on the letter sent to us on the amount due to redeem car. The total $7,287.83 was now substainally more.

The co-buyer demanded to speak with management. Employee Gabriel told her "NO" that you can not speak with managment and that she should have known it was more than that to redeem the car. He was nasty and rude and gave her no respect at all and hung up in her face. She tried to call back and he blocked her number.

TMCC now have the money and the car. We have spoke with a few Attorneys and they all agree that TMCC clearly violated the Federal and State of Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Acts and Breach of Contract.

This was totally wrong and goes against everything TOYOTA promises and promotes. If they did this to me they have done it to many others, the Owner of this company need to know the type of people they have working for them. They have yet to contact me or the cobuyer, It has now been over a week and I am car less and moneyless. I have all the supporting evidence that this happened. Please help me. Someone
