Just read consumer complaints by Austinrio. If u think yours went bad let me tell you this... Same date repo. Sometime between 10:30 pm the 16th and 7:30 am monday the 17 of december my Truck was taken from infront of my home. I called GMAC that morning time approx 10 am. Was told yes they took the vehicle. They told me there is no amount shown on computer as of yet but to call back after 2 pm as computer is updated at that time.
So I called then, still no amount totalled as to that point, I had the money available then and told the woman on the phone such. Was told approx cost to get my truck back but that the accual sum is not determined to this time and within 3 days will be sent to auction and more fees accru. I told her my intention was to pay as soon as she could give me an exact amount to pay, was told to call back next day.
I called now at 9 am or so on the 18th still not in computer the charges and she said she would call the tow company right then, was told there is no amount set as of yet. My comment to her then was you use this company always in my area, correct? She answered yes, and i responded with then there should be a set amount one car is no different from another and she agreed but had no further advise on how to reclaim my truck, was told to call after 2 pm again. Got busy so no call after 2 pm by me. Understand this is my work truck complete with tool for my trade nd living as i am self employed.
Called again Wednesday and was told atleast the company name bto get my personal belongins back but still no amount verified to pay. I called the tow company and arrainged to get my things. When loading my things I noticed a few items missing in my personal belongings and by the way had to pay 105. Dollars to get my things back! Made a complaint imediately to the service counter at the tow yard. Was told rather indignant to make a police report, which I am sure u know goes nowhere. Collected my things and recieved a list by the tow company of what they took out of my truck. The Items i missed were either grouped in Misc constrction tools or not listed at all.
Finally on midmorning of the 4th day (thurs the 20 I was told an amount, and funny how it was exactly what i was told as am approximate on Monday the 17th. Was also told it was not sent to auction but I needed to send a police release wich I did but possibly since i had no one specifice i sent it to they told me they did not recieve it on Friday when i called about my release of my truck. I resent it right way and called back, and I have not mentioned to call and contact anyone u must wait approx 45 min to 1 1/2 hours on hold! So once confirmed the police release (another way to pay out 15 dollars to my city for no reason) I was told i would recieve a phone call stating the reease of my vehicle in 24 to 48 hours. This was friday the 21st.
No cal Monday, No call tuesday (Christmas eve and Christmas day) Now we are talking Wednesday the 26th I call them, no information of yet call back later. Remember now 24 to 48 hours. Called thursday the 27, was told someone did not enter everything correctly and that now it was done right. Now it will really be 24 to 48 hours to recieve my call. No call on Friday the 28 and here we are going into New Years. Monday I call no release yet and all buisnessess are shutting down for the holiday.
Once again denied my truck. Still is my work truck my ability to work and make a living to make thier payments as agreed. Get thru Tuesday the 1st and call again on Wednesday the 2nd, no release availavble yet because of short staff due to Holidays. Called Friday the 4th now release is eminant I am on the list but have not recieved my phone call yet. Come Monday and wow the phone call cometh at approx 9:30 am. I arrage a ride and was told to just go pick it up at the AUCTION yard (where it was not supposed to be sent, but no extra fees were assesed).
When I called for exact directions and to let them know I was coming I was told all appointments were taken for that day but could get my truck bac on thursday the 10th. I informed the person on the phone that is unacceptable and to this day I was already 21 days without my vehicle and 17 days since I paid all fees. I was told I could come out and try to get it but no gurentee I would recieve it. I
T took 4 more hours once there for them to bring it forward and release it to me. No extra fees, but when I inspected the truck I found body damage not there when it went away. Now I am trying to find out who is responsbale and no one is telling me anything yet. Only shifting from one to another.
Now today the 10th of January no one will address the damage or the lost tools or the time it took to get my truck back. I am looking for Help! Or class action or just a email address for complaints or a comsumer group to assist me here. Will appreciate any help anyone can give in my fight! I know it is going to be a long one!
