Ripoff Deliberate delaying tactics to raise their own costs

My step son (Fred) is nearly always late making his payments. This is clearly unacceptable and there should be consequences.

On Monday evening his vehicle was towed from outside our home.in fact, when Fred went outside to investigate the towtruck took off down the road. Clearly no conversation was acceptable to them - and Fred couldn't recover the child car seat for use in another vehicle.

WFS, when challenged on Tuesday, said they'd tried to call and let him know.in fact "My name is Flossie. Please, call me on..." counts as legally permissable. They did not ever threaten to repo the truck so he had no notice. Also, they refused to tell Fred what was required - they are allowed to take 24 hours so call tomorrow.

He did go to the pound to get his 'stuff' but had to relinquish his keys. No wonder the towtruck took off.

On Wednesday he was told he has to pay the whole debt. No negotiation. He was, in fact, just one payment behind so there has to be more to things than that. He had ten days. Oh, yes. He cannot sell the truck himself - if he cannot get a loan the company will sell it and lumber him (legally) with a reposession and residual debt!

DHL failed to get an overnight cheque delivered - DHL didn't give a hoot, either.

Friday. The cheque was signed for at noon but WFS lost it for 3 hours. When they did process it, it was too late to get the release to the car pound.in fact, when Fred rang the pound at 3pm he was told the staff had gone home for the weekend. The earlist he can get the truck is Monday - some time after 10am, no promises.

WFS have been deliberately obstructive. On Tuesday, they failed to tell Fred what he owed, simply because they could. On Wednesday they called in the debt in it's entirity without negotiation. On Friday, WFS negligently misplaced the cheque which meant Fred couldn't get his truck 'til Monday. That alone has caused an extra 3 days impound charges of $50 a day.

The impound company, an agent or business partner of WFS, refuse to say what the fees will be. They went home at 3pm on Friday and don't work at the weekend (although they do repossess on Saturdays and Sundays).

Fred is a bad payer but WFS are deliberately obstructive and negligent. And they really don't give a darn. Repo and storage costs run to approximately $500.
