On september I attended and completed Swifts truck driving training course, I did everything that they asked of me. The company promised to hire me when I first attended the course, saying that anyone that would not be hirable would be sent home within the first three days. After the 3 weeks of training and 2 days of orientation I was hired for one day. While waiting to be coded I was told I was fired. The reason they gave me was because of a misdemeanor in my record; this was a surprise to me since I had informed my recruiter of this from the beginning, and she told me that there had been a background check and she did not see this as a problem because I had passed all investigations. When my recruiter called me once again to tell me that everything went through I asked one more time about my background check and she said it was okay.
It has been 2 months since and I am still unemployed. Plus I still owe the $4,000.00 to Swift that I am not able to pay. I feel that this company has hurt me in the future because I am now having a hard time finding a job because I do not have 2 years of experience.in fact CR England told me that the reason the wouldn't give me a chance was because of what Swift put on my DAC report. They reported that I falsified my application which was a lie. I was honest with this company from the beginning. I am a single mother of two trying to better my life and I feel that swift takes advantage of people.
