Sold me a vehicle and told me all it needed was brakes all the way around a seal fixed, and a fuel filter... Had these repairs done costing 500.00 and that was not the problem at all! The rear end is ready to lock up, and the transmission is shot! 3200.00 worth of repairs on top of 500.00 already put in it. Paid 2500.00 for a 98 jeep cherokee limited
My name is Heather. I work full time and support my 4 month old daughter. I saved for over year 2500.00 to buy a decent vehicle. I purchased a 98 jeep cherokee limited edion from bennie shenck. He told me that it came from michigan and it had been sitting for 3 months. I was told after driving it that it needed brakes all around and the rear drums were draging that was the noise in the rear. Also i was tol that it had a leak that was a transmission pan and it needed a trnasmision filter. Well i took it to my mechanic had these repairs done and they were not the problems at all. This vehichle is unsake to be driving and should not be drove. The transmission in second gear is shot and the rear end is very bad that is is going to lock up if its droven. I purchased the vehichle 11-05-07. I drove it one day then it went to my mechanic. I called bennie 11-12-07 to let him know all of this. He said my office lady is not in shell be in tommorrow call at noon. The next day i called at 9 to make sure she would be in cause i was going to personally go to face to face. Then he says shes on vacation try calling tommorrow. I said you are the owner you dont know when she be in in. He didnt know. So he said to call the next day which is today 11-14-07. I called he said shes not here she on vacation i said every day i call you tell me a story you dont know anything and your the owner and work there. I said this is not right i paid you 2500.00 for a vehichle that is unsafe and cant be droven. It has 3400.00 worth of repairs that needs done to it. He said a well you did buy it as is and that is that. I said so pretty much you are not going to help me in anyway go get screwed and he said yes you should not have bought the vehichle. I would not have bought it if i wasnt told that it was brakes and just a seal and filter. He said that is what he was told. I said you sould have not told me what the problem was if you didnt know. This guy is a rip off now im stranded have no money and he is not willing to do anything to help me. I dont think this is right! So with waht i bought it for 2500.00 and 500.00 in repairs already done to it, and 3400.00 more to put in it adds up to 6400.00 that i dont have and the vehicle isnt worth half that. Please help.
