Misrepresentation, Offshore Scam Operation, Fraudulent Business Practices. All in one racket! Advertised and purchased a name brand part and received an unlabeled generic part. Twice!

Autopartswarehouse.com operates under multiple business names and its name remains prominent in search engines. However, do NOT make the mistake of thinking that this is a respectable, credible and ethical business. I purchased a Bosal Performance catalytic converter for my 1999 Toyota Camry, but received instead, an unlabeled generic converter shipped loose and unboxed without ANY warranty information or manufacturer identification whatsoever.

When my certified mechanic installed the converter, the "check engine" lamp displayed in a few days. After $300 worth of diagnostic testing by my mechanic to rule out other components being the source of the problem, it was determined that the converter was faulty and defective. Returning the item proved to be a source of frustration and red tape.in order to return the converter, I had to purchase another converter to keep my vehicle operational. The second converter sent was again, a generic, although I ordered and paid for a Bosal catalytic converter.

The terms and conditions of having to return merchandise are unreasonable, particularly when it is clearly their error. They make it difficult and extremely inconvenient to return parts despite their website claims. DO NOT accept their excuse that "it can take six weeks to have a credit authorized and approved" for parts returned. This is a revenue-enhancing scam.

There is NO "customer service"... Only the perception of such. Phone calls are routed to an offshore operation handled by ALL foreign-speaking "associates" having poor grasp of the English language and are very difficult to understand. This, combined with a VOIP line with an echo and time delay, make conversations frustrating and meaningless. They appear to have a standard script they use to address all customer inquiries and/or concerns. When I demanded to speak to a supervisor, they replied, "You don't need to speak to a supervisor... I can handle all of your concerns." I have logged and documented some 14 phone calls in order to rectify mistakes created as a direct result of this merchant's irresponsible and unethical business practices. They do not honor commitments made over the phone when they are pressed by customers to hold them accountable.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS MERCHANT. You will be disappointed and lose time and money trying to hold these people accountable for their unscrupulous business practices. Although the merchant's web site lists a corporate address of record, in reality there is no such "corporate address"... Only a warehouse with several distribution centers. The principal (s) appear to operate overseas and out of U.S. Jurisdiction. I have had to resort to executing a chargeback from my bank and have also filed a complaint with the FTC.

It is my understanding that autopartswarehouse is currently under investigation by the FTC. The bottom line is that you get what you pay for... It would have been better to pay more and deal with a reputable vendor..."Cheap is dear, and dear is cheap"! Let the buyer beware.
