Liberty Motors - Oceanside Auto Sales Automotive Dealer Fraud. Sold me junk truck, "their" mechanic said its fine, just hiccups!

I traded my F-150 for a Dodge Ram deisel to get better mileage for work. I went to Liberty Motors Oceanside Auto Sales located in Oceanside, Ca. They failed to offer me the required forms, (Optional Products and Services Disclosure, Contract Cancellation Option Agreement), and explained that the vehicle was a prior trade-in, with absolutely no internal damage, no previous accidents, and a clean carfax history report. My wife asked the dealer if anything was wrong with the vehicle and he stated, "absolutely nothing, aside from a few scratches in the paint."

As we left the dealership, and made our way onto the freeway, the truck begin to pull violently to the left. I called the dealer and explained that the allignment needed to be checked, he offered to pay half the cost of the allignment because he said it was not one of the dealerships' responsibilities unless it envolved the internal engine.

Two days later my transmission fluid began to leak very heavily, and as I had it checked I was told that the hose needed repair, I had a belt needing repair, and my oil was as thick as mud. The dealer said he would pay for the transmission fluid hose only, the rest had nothing to do with them.

When the truck's AVS light came in, I went to the dealer, yet again. He sent me to his mechanic for a diagnostic. The mechanic stated the truck is fine, probably just a hiccup in the engine.

Then after almost 3 1/2 weeks of purchase, while driving, my truck would not shift into gear, remained stuck in 2nd, (it's an automatic), and I could not get the truck to go above 25 miles per hour. Not only did this happen on the road, but on the freeway as well. Once again, the dealers mechanic said that there was nothing wrong.

The truck practically stopped running and I took it to a local transmission shop. According to their diagnostics, the transmission is shot! I need to replace the transmission, replace the drive shaft, and replace the gear box... There are also a few other items that need fixed, but these were the majors. The total is going to cost me roughly around $3800.

I called the dealer, once again, and explained the problem. They told me that I should have brought it to them first. I explained that it wouldn't have been safe to drive 30 minutes on the freeway with it acting like that, and then they asked me why I didn't report the problems to them sooner! Give me a break. That's exactly what I've done, repeatedly. Now my 30 day warranty agreement is obsolete, and they're telling me "Oh well, you should have reported it to us."
