I recently went into my local Carmax because they are running commercials in my area that they will buy my car at a resonable price. Great I was looking to sell my car to them. This would elemenate all hassels of selling to an individual, I was wrong.
Carmax has a car just like mine, but silver (stock # 4577967) on the lot for $14,988. They say that Blue Book retail value is $15,865. So I thought that Carmax would atleast offer me $10,000. Blue Book trade-in on my car is $13,000.
My appraisal offer said my car is in perfect condition for the age other than a few surface blemishes. And they offered my $6,500. A difference of $8,488. Wow, I couldn't believe it. Are they for real?
