In late 2003 i got myself a brand new 2004 black Mitusbishi eclipse, and to my surprise after only a couple of years the black paint on top of the car has started to fade. A friend said no way that's not right go to the dealership and have them check it out. So to the dearlership i go, the same one mind you that i've taken my car for all of it's services and they send me to a bodyshop.
At the bodyshop the lady tells me that the paint on the black 2002 to 2004 eclipses fade due to some factory error. I think to myself well isn't this is grand why wasn't there a recall done so they could have just painted them and gotten it out of the way? I'm guessing cause they don't want to have to repaint all of them but who knows.
So 8 weeks later we get the approval to repaint, which i've been told by two people (a service manager and the GM of the dealership) that i'm lucky that Mitsubishi is repainting cause i have 50,000 miles on it. Which i responeded with if i were lucky they would have painted it right the first time. I'm also informed that i will not be getting a rental car of the five days the car is in the shop cause i have to many miles on my car or cause they suck i'm still not sure which it is.
So, my friends if you have a black 2002 - 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse and your paint has faded it's time you head to the dealership and have that taken care of. Just have another car lined up cause they won't give you a rental.
