I purchased a 2003 Ford Explorer on August 25. It is now October 15 and we still do not have financing. A month ago Robert at the dealership called me asking me to bring the car in because a Safety and Emissions had not be completed yet today he claims that there was one. I have asked him to fax it to me so I could see the date on it because it had to have been done fraudulently because we never took the car in. We also are unable to drive the vehicle because the temporary tags have expired. When I called him about this he told me to come in and he would change the date on the license. I feel this this is putting me at risk legalling because I was told it is illegal to make changes to the temporary tag.
I am willing to take the vehicle back but they said they would not give me my down payment back (over $2000). I am unable to drive the vehicle and unable to get a different vehicle because they will not return the down payment. They have been doing many illegal things and I feel this will cause me to lose the money all together. When confronted about the financing Robert states that it has taken so long because I changed jobs. I dont see how this would impact it since I am not making more money then I was before.
