Add my 2002 Ford F-150 to the VERY LONG LIST of consumers' Ford Engines that blow spark plugs. At 95,000 miles cyclinder #4 blew out a spark plug and a coil pack to go with it. 4,000 miles later cyclinder #5 blew out also. I guess I have six more to go. Besides the tons of my hard earned money thrown out the window on a fairly new vehicle for repairs, towing, etc., I am also concerned of the safety issues that my occur.
I can definately say that I noticed when both of my plugs blew that I smelled a VERY strong presence of GAS odor. That would be the injectors pumping fuel even after the plug shoots out of the cyclinder head. I guess Ford MAY act on their engineering screw-up to calm the media when a poor human being dies or gets badly hurt/burnt. They'll try to sooth things/media with a belated recall but only when it's too late just like the Firestone tire issue.
