I love Nissans. Of my last two Nissan's I purchased, one was from Harte Nissan in Hartford, CT.in August I paid off my 2005 Nissan Altima. I contacted Nissan in Hartford to cancel my protective life and disability along with my gap insurance. I was told that I did not have to sign a letter regarding the cancellation of my gap insurance and that it will be taken care of.
I called Safe Gap and found out that my gap insurance had not been canceled, a couple of months later. I was further told that it had to come from Nissan not from the customer. It took months of negotiating with the front desk receptionist, URESA, but nothing was done. I finally decided to speak to her supervisor and others who were ahead of her. I have been waiting and still waiting for over a year.
I have called Nissan several times and nothing has been done. I have also sent letters and faxed in which I have the fax confirmations. I was told in July to contact Michael Stevens one of the finance directors and fax over a letter stating that the car was paid off in full and that it will be taken care of. The requested information was faxed, again which I have the confirmations of. I stated that the cancellation of the gap insurance should be retroactive. I requested to be called. Nothing has been done. I have left several messages for the individuals at Heart Nissan and no one has returned my call.
I have since consulted a lawyer who will be advocating on my behalf. This is not the only situation I have had with this company. A couple months ago I was going to buy a 2007 Altima from them; however, I changed my mind because of the poor costumer service and other issues which I will disclose if I need to. I brought the vehicle from somewhere else and I am more than happy that I did. I will never ever buy another vehicle from Heart Nissan. I have been trying to write letters and get information on where I need to write and no one has been able to help.
I am furious and aggravated, how hard could it be to fax a paper to cancel GAP insurance?
