On July 26 me and my three daughters and grandbaby, packed up to go visit my family in florida, whom i haven't seen in over 20 years. It was a rainy day, and we were traveling on the freeway in vidor, texas, a lady driving well over the posted speed limit, went around us in the fast lane. The next thing we knew, she had hydroplanned right in front of us, sitting sideways over both lanes, i tryed to stop, but there was no way. We hit her right in the side. Thank god we only had minor injuries, my wife and i were both taken to the hospital.
The police report stated that the other driver was going to fast for the weather conditions, and that we were not at fault.
We called progressive insurance, which was her insurance company, i gave them a statement and a few days later, i received a letter stating that they will not accept liabilty for the accident, that i should stopped, and avoided the accident. There was not possible way i could of stopped, that was our only vehicle, and now we are paying the price for someone else being an idiot driver. Progressive should pay us what we are due. They are very unfair, and it is just not right that a innocent driver has to pay for something i didn't have any control over.
