I was in an accident where a 15yo kid on a bicycle, wearing no helmet, made an improper left turn in front of my vehicle.
Witnesses and police report are very clear in that the cyclist caused the collision.
Progressive put 3 points on my insurance record for an "At fault accident" and doubled my premium.
Progressive never notified me of the impending blemish on my record or rate increase until I received the bill for policy renewal.
When I called Progressive to inquire as to why they were faulting me when the police report and witnesses stated otherwise, I was told that because they paid the kid's medical bills, I am "automatically" at fault.
A 15 year old while a minor, has certainly reached the "age of reason" and should know to look and signal before turning into the path of oncoming traffic.
It's bad enough I'm out the $500.00 deductible to repair my vehicle, but now Progressive Is faulting me for the accident!!!
