Completely stole my money Ripoff

I am a 22 yr old girl who doesnt have the best of credit and needed a car. I had owned a few cars already, but they were hand me downs or a vehicle that was in a certain low price range. NONE of them lasted more than a year for me, and i was getting really upset. The transmission went on my most recent 98 oldsmobile intrigue and i NEEDED a new one. I wanted a newer car so i could have the ease of mind that it wasnt going to break down right away but i didnt have alot of money, so i went looking for places that would finance a first time buyer with no cosigner.

I stopped at this small auto place that also sold cars. I was interested in a 2000 toyota solara. A slaes person came out and began to tell me things about the car. I told him i was interested and that i could aford to put $1500 down, and would need to finance the rest. No problem, he told me, come fill out some papers. I signed a paper that read "subject to financing". This meant that if i qualified for financing, i would have to buy a car there. I brought everything they needed. Bank statments, pay stubs, references, proof of address, etc. They called me very soon after saying i was appoved and to come down to the store. When i got there, they told me i was approved, but not for the solara. I had an option of either a 2000 suzuki esteem or a 98 pontiac sunfire, neither of which i was interested in at all, but i was already bound by contract, which i thought was EXTREMELY unfair. I signed under the influence that i was applying for the car i was interested in. I had already gave them $500 out of the $1500 i said i could put down the first day i went there.

A few weeks later, i lost my job because i had some family issues happening to me and needed to move. I calle Kingston Foreing Auto and explained to them my situation and that i really didnt want either of the cars they offered to me. They told me it was fine, that they would hold on to my $500 until i got back onto my feet and when i did to come down and see what they offered then. They dtill hadnt sold the cars they offered and it is 6 months later. I called them multiple times and also went there to try to get my money back to no avail. Since then, i have been working in a bar and do not receive paychecks, only tips. And i have a savings account, but do not deposit even 1/2 of my earnings into it. My only option is that i apply for financing through them once again, so my money doesnt go to waste but because i do not have documentation of what my earnings are, and a bank account with little deposits, i cannot be financed, and STILL they refuse to give me my money back. I brought up the "subject to financing" agreement saying that if i could not be fininced then the contract should be void.

They told me i needed at least two months bank statments showing deposits that are big and frequent enough to prove what i earn. The problem is that i have already gone without a car for a longer time that i wanted and definately cannot afford another 2 months waiting. I am inconveniencing everyone. Is there anything i can do?
