Wells Fargo Auto Finance
Provided inaccurate information re: post dated checks

Due to the nature of the current real estate market, I'm currently unemployed. This lead me to fall behind a couple of months on my auto loan.

Before I was even late, I contacted Wells Fargo to advise them of my recent address, as I had moved, and unemployment situation. I've been keeping communication with them to avoid repossession.

During this time, I was advised by one representative that I would need to make a payment by the end of the month. This would just simply be better on my credit. The next day, another representative called to advise that the information provided to me was inaccurate and that my vehicle was going into repo status if I didn't make a payment over the phone by the end of business day. She apologized for the incorrect info given from the first representive.

After the check by phone payment, I was advised to make another payment by the end of the following month. To further assist me, Wells Fargo said they can post date a check for 13 days. Keeping this in mind, I've been finding ways to get the money so that I can beat this deadline for the post-dated check.

Wells Fargo called me again asking for status, I said I believe I can post-date a check in the next couple of days as I was feeling confident that I may start a job. To confirm, I had asked the representative if the check can be held for 13 days as I will most likely receive a paycheck by then. She said yes.

The next day I received a phone call from a representative advising he needed a post-dated check and that it would need to clear in a couple of days. I advised him that two representatives have told me 13 days. He immediately got rude and said they were wrong and that my situation with my auto loan has escalated. His excuse for the "misunderstanding" was that the representives that were calling me were Level 1 representatives.

I calmly explained to him that I shouldn't be at fault and that he should honor my 13 days that I was advised of. He replied rudely that if I had made my payment, then I wouldn't be in this situation. He said 600 of his employees have the correct information regarding post-dated checks, but I just
happened to have spoken to the two representatives of the company that don't know what they are talking about. Darn the luck!!
