I took my car to the place I have trusted for eight years. They had a new manager, Jim. He called me on the phone and said I needed a water pump and a timing belt. He said it would be about 350 dollars. I said OK. He called a full week later and said he needed another 250 for an alternator.
I thought, gee, if the car isn't running isn't this the first thing he'd look at? I said it was becoming more than I could afford but I said OK. I am a widow that doesn't make a lot of money. He called me the next Monday and said that it was done and that I could pick it up, the cost was 1,500 dollars. There were charges for head gasgets and oil pans and a battery which he had said was good the first time. I questioned him about this and he said he didn't need to tell me about these charges because I should assume that these things were wrong.
He said perhaps he miscommunicated with me and he would make it right, his boss was there. He avoided me for a week until I took a male friend with me. No one was there so he became very rude and said he was not dealing with me and I would pay him 1500 dollars or not get my car back and that's where I'm at now.
