Negotiated to purchase a new Scion online, sent them deposit. Arrived and gave them check from finance company, eLoan, while I took car for test drive. When I returned they told me "we don't accept financing from eLoan" and offers me their own financing at a substantially higher interest rate.
I walked out the door and filed a bait-and-switch report w / the FL attorney-general. I checked with eLoan: Lipton Toyota regularly accepts financing from eLoan and accepted one loan within the past 30 days. They obviously knew I was driving from relatively far away and thought they could pull a bait-and-switch.
I'll probably sue them for lost time and any difference in price I end up paying for the car they contractually promised to sell me. However, if you are in the market for a car I strongly suggest avoiding Lipton Toyota.
