Falsified Information

Letter sent to Alan Vester (no response to date)

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter because I am concern and disgruntled with the information that was given to me due to a recent purchase of a car through your dealership in Henderson, NC. After being referred to you through my sister, I came to you for a new car. My salesperson, April, went over with me where I stood financially. She explained to me, that I had accrued a substantial amount of negative equity with the Grand Cherokee that I was currently financing through Green Cap Financial. At the time, I owed approximately 9000 dollars, and you all had appraised the car at approximately 3200 dollars. She also stated based on my credit, that I did not have too many financing options.

She showed me two vehicles, the first was a PT cruiser, I explained to her that I did not like a PT Cruiser. Then she proceeded to show me a Suzuki Forenza Hatchback. I told her I absolutely hated a hatch back and would keep my Jeep Cherokee and just take my chances even though I had a lot of mileage. She finally stated that this would be my best option and that I would be able get rid of the negative equity and build my credit. She continues to say that I would only have to drive it for six months and trade it for something else. Still did not want to purchase the vehicle, stating that it was costing me 2000 down and I hated paying for something I just absolutely hated. She went on further to explain that my insurance would be cheaper because it's not an SUV and that my gas cost also would be better. She proceeded to bring out the Finance person to better explain the situation.

He begins to say, look you only have to drive this car for six months and then you can trade it. You may accrue some negative equity, maybe 1500 dollars but you definitely want be in the same position you are in now. Your old car will be showing paid off and that will build your credit, and you can get a car for a lower interest rate. I know the car is not an attractive car but it's only for six months. The car will not even be on the books until January. 2008. I explained to them both that I will not purchase the vehicle unless I could trade in six months and only if it will put be in a better position than I was in reference to negative equity. They verbally agreed that this would put me in a better position. I told them then if that is the case then I would sign the paperwork. He stated that he would have to have 2000 dollars down and that they could hold the check until 5/31. The current date that I bought the car was 5/5 on a Saturday.

I have several concerns. First of all, there was no inspection sticker on the car when I bought it. I had to drive and hour in a half from Cary NC to get it inspected through the Dealership. Secondly, you had broken the verbal agreement to hold the check until the May 31 and I had to pay for NSF funds because your company tried to cash in early. Lastly, you gave me false information. After getting advice from several people I have in worse condition and lost more money by buying you vehicle. I am trapped in this vehicle at least 2-3 years after speaking with several financial lenders at other car dealerships.

I want a response or something in writing after my statement and given clarification that I will only purchase this vehicle with the assurance that I would be better off, which I am not. I feel salesman and dealerships should be liable for false statements and misleading information to make a sale. The monetary gain and greed should not be toyed with and people life and there money they work hard should entitle them to get what they want. I work two jobs and go to school, a to be a victim of false statement made me angry and brought me to tears. I work hard I should not have to settle for something I don't want because of bad sale practices. My roommate, Monique Fearrington witnessed the above transaction and conversation.

I would like someone to contact me by phone or in writing.

I understand that legally, I need to inform you of my complaint. So I am taken the proper steps.

Sincerely
