United Auto Credit
Ripoff Unscrupulous Behavio

Mine is not so much a problem any longer but whats one more to the fire. 2 years ago my boyfriends ex-wife had defaulted on her truck payment with United Auto Credit. They started calling him and telling him that his name was on the credit application. I'm not sure now whether it was or not but anyway he was rebuilding his credit so he took the truck which she had left broken in a parking lot needing thousands of dollars of repair and a new engine. We got it fixed and I personally drove those payments to their Northside Indianapolis office on or before every due date because he told me how terrible they were calling his work, etc. I paid this for him because his job was out of state. I am serious when I say that for 18 months I was never ever not 1 minute late. So the 2nd to last payment is made and the last receipt they give me shows a balance due of 168.78 or something simple like that and it was due on June 12. Well instead of driving it down and it being the very last payment I called their office on the southside where the account was initially set up and asked could I send a money order to them. It was 2 weeks before the payment was due and I had plenty of time. They gave me the address and off the payment went.

Well the day the last payment was due the Northside office called the house. They told me the payment was going to be late and I told them what I had done. Man was I scolded, 1st I sent it to the wrong office, the account had been transferred to the Northside and after they checked and found that it had been paid informed me that there was a 2.00 payment still due and if i wanted the title to be mailed out I had to bring that 2.00 to them that very instant. I was going to drive 60 miles to take a 2.00 check to them just to get the title after all the crap we'd gone through.

I was raising cane... This was unbelievable. Finally the lady said that someone in her office said it was OK to go ahead and call it Paid. Well Duh, I paid what the final payment was and it was paid before it was due and besides for 18 months I paid on something that technically wasnt our debt anyway and I always paid 2.30 more a month.
