Complaint / Review
Midway Buick Pontiac Gm
Overcharged me by $500 ripoff

To whom it may concern;

I dont know what to do anymore or where to turn. I purchased a late model GM vehicle at Midway Pontiac/GMC, Phoenix, Arizona, on May 11. At the time of purchase my salesman & I agreed that I would pay full advertised price & that I would receive $2,000 for my trade ($1,500 under book value) he shook my hand in agreement.

I am a disabled Viet Nam veteran who has to take medication on a daily basis with designated times. After we shook hands I advised my salesman (Jeff Vien) that I couldnt wait long for finance as I had to be home too take my medication. He advised me that it would not be a problem. An hour & a half later I was still waiting & began to feel the results of my medication beginning to wear off. I get tremors & my eyesight gets blurred. I advised him of this quite a few times.

Finally 2 hours later I got into the finance office. The finance person (James Corkell) told me that we would go through my credit union & that filling out his loan application really didnt mean anything.

So he began to shove papers in my direction for me to sign. I had total trust in him. (This proved to bite me in the butt) After I had got a turndown from my C.U. Because of a discharged BK Chapter 13 I began to look at the loan papers. I was shocked to see that I was given $1,500 for my trade instead of the agreed upon $2,000. The rate was also 20% instead of the agreed upon 19%

When I called my sales person he said he was sorry & that if I brought in my girlfriend who I planned to bring in that he would take it off that total. This was not acceptable. I then went to his boss (Larry Dennis) who is the fleet mgr who also agreed that I was to get the $2,000 & 19% we had agreed on. He even signed off on the deal.

When I came in & talked to him he also apologized & said he would take it off when I brought my girlfriend in to buy. I told him that wasnt going to be the case & this had to be settled first. He took the info to the finance manager (who incidentally would not even come to meet me) who basically said tough and was going to do nothing about it. I even offered to come up with $200 along with the $500 they owed me. His answer was I needed to come up with $300 because the warranty costs $800. He even knew that they cheated me out of the $500.

My next step was to go to the General Manager, David Vill. He continued to blow me off by saying he would call me the next day & he would fix the problem. A week & a half later after many calls to Mr. Vill, he never once called me back as he promised.

I know Im a small fish in a big pond, but I have bought 6 cars from that site & brought in another 4 customers who bought. I know that $500 doesnt mean that much to such a large corporation. To me its a lot as I live on a fixed income (VA disability pension) Can you please tell me what to do next? I am very upset that a loyal customer would be treated like this. The Fleet Manager told me that customer service really did not mean much to the dealership.

Please help me or direct me to the next level of management.
