On June 26th we went with our son to Brown & Brown Chevrolet to purchase a vehicle. We had purchased a brand new truck from them earlier and so we recommended our son go there when he wanted a vehicle also.
Big mistake!
To start with they said my son could not qualify for the laon so first I offered to co-sign for him and after being offered the moon (low interest etc) they also convinced my husband to also co-sign.
It was late and they were rushing but we sat with Jim Bauman in the Finance Dept and ALL THREE of us signed all the paperwork, contract included. Lo and behold... 3 weeks later we receive title and my sons name is nowhere to be seen!
I called GMAC immediately and was informed that Brown & Brown NEVER submitted the application with my sons name on it!
My husband and I were in the process of moving out of state these guys KNEW that! They also KNEW this was MY SONS vehicle NOT ours! This vehicle can not even be insured by my son because he is not on the title.
I have contacted Brown & Brown on numerous occasions. I have talked to Brad in finace, Jim Bauman in Finance, The Finance Manager... All to no avail.
At this point we were forced to help our son get ANOTHER vehicle and take this one with us out of state. We have suffered many expenses in transporting, insurance (which they are forcing me to have or they will repossess of all things!) and storage in California.
We have filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office, GMAC, the GM Complaint Department and now we come to you. PLEASE we are hoping that the GREAT THORN will see this and help us out.
We beleive this was a total fraudulant contract and want Brown & Brown to take care of this problem immediately.
