On february 17th I was traveling north on the pennyrile parkway in Kentucky. When I crested a hill there was a vehicle that had spun out across the highway and I impacted them and the gaurdrail at 65 MPH. The air bags did not deploy.
I contacted GM and they seemed concerned and sent out an engineer to look at the vehicle. Of course their engineer said that they should not have deployed. Imagine that.
I have many pictures and as soon as I can find out how to post them here I will do so.
I have spoken to many people in GM and GMAC regarding the unsafeness of this vehicle and that neither I nor my children felt safe in this vehicle and I was no longer going to be responsible for it. They will not budge and keep passing me from one department to the other.
I have statements from the GM body shop manager and a police department accident investigator that considering the damage done to this vehicle ($13,500) and the impact area affected that there is no way that the air bags should not have deployed.
The entire front end of the vehicle is demolished and the radiator support mounts (solid steel) are broken.
GM expects me to drive this vehicle after the repairs are made and put my childrens life at risk with every moment spent in this vehicle. GMAC expects me to continue the lease on a clearly dangerous piece of machinery.
Beware!
