While not quite as bad as some stories on here, I had a real bad experience with ASAP as well.
I found them on the Internet and they had a great price on an engine for a 2000 Toyota Corolla. I called and ordered the engine and was treated professionally while ordering. They said it would ship that day and I would have it within two days since I am not very far away. This was on Thursday on the week before Thanksgiving and I was assured I would have it by Tuesday. My goal was to be able to install the engine while I was off work.
When the engine didn't show up Tuesday, I called and requested a tracking number. They had promised to email it to me when I initially placed my order. It soon became apparent that the engine hadn't shipped yet. The lack of explanation for why quickly led me to believe that they didn't have the engine in the first place.
Since they couldn't produce a tracking number I requested my money back. I could buy an engine locally for a little more than what they were charging. I was told that Dina was the only one that could authorize that. I asked to speak to her and was put on perpetual hold.
I finally got Dina on the phone and was told that since my engine had already shipped, I would have to send it back before I could get a refund. I tried to explain that it hadn't shipped, but she hung up on me. This same sequence of events happened multiple times over a 2 week period.
Finally one day I was given a tracking number and was told to take it up with the freight company. I was also told that the freight company picked it up a couple of weeks ago and it was their problem. So I call the freight company right away to see what the problem is. I give them the tracking number and the response is that they only picked it up that morning and it will be there tomorrow. I gathered from my conversation with the shipper that this was not the first call he had received about ASAP.
I was qouted a delivered price and when the engine arrived, it was shipped freight collect. I called ASAP again before I paid the shipping and I was assured by Dina that they would credit it back to my credit card. A total LIE. I paid for the freight and got my engine.
I can't complain too much about the engine except for instead of it being the 30,000 mile engine I was promised, it is more like a 120,000 mile engine with a 2 inch thick layer of sludge inside the valve cover. It does run and I will get rid of this car soon.
I am only out the $99.00 I paid for freight, and a huge hassle. My credit card company says that there is nothing they can do since the freight is not a separate charge.
Please Beware. Do not buy from these people under any circumstances. They will repeatedly lie especially Dina.
