I started 2006 off with a bang everything was the best i ever had just bought a $10,000.00 Tool box Then Bought a Toyota Tundra Pick up truck then in april i bought myself the best birthday present ever a Brand new Victory Vegas Motorcycle i bought everything with it like GAP. Everything was going awsome with the bike up til the night of August 8th i was on my way home from work at 10:30 pm and i was cut off by someone in a SUV, he drove away leaving me there with a dislocated and broken left wrist and a broken right thumb and road rash all over me. I go to the hospital they take xrays and then the doctor comes to me and says he need to send me to the Providence Hospital because my dislocated wrist was on nerves and he couldn't fix me he sent me to the best plastic surgin around. After surgery and all the drugs wearing off its been around 3 weeks.
So i filed everything i had to file for My insurance and then i had to file the GAP papers which is a pain in the ass first they only need 6 papers from you for the claim then they tell you they need 20 other things so this goes on til october 23rd 2006 they get everything they needed. Now its a waiting game they said until they pay the bank.
On November 13th they told me it takes 4-6 weeks for the underrider. The underrider is the last step. 2.5 months goes by and i was calling them about 1 day every week to see what was going on they told me the same thing every time. So finally a nice lady from the company calls me and says that the NSD decleined my claim because she said i took to long to file my paper work. Isaid to her i took to long maybe because there was 3 weeks of my life that i couldn't do any thing i told her i had problems wiping my ass let alone file paper work or holding a pen to sign my name because my left hand was in a case for 3 months from finger tips to shoulder with a screw and 4 pins in the wrist and my right hand was in a case from finger tips to elbow with a metal plate and 5 screws. So i said you try doing paper work like that.
I also asked her whats the point of buying GAP insurance if they don't pay you anywase its a waste of money. While the Confersation pretty much ended there she said she was going to appeal the decission. So now i stuck paying left over balance which is around $6000.00 and to top it off i maxed my dept out because i was out of work for almost 6 months with no income none what so ever. And i have medical bills though the roof.
SO my Moral is: What the point of purchasing an added Insurance if there not going to anywase.
