Americredit Poor Customer Service, Ignorant Customer Service Reps, Plain Rip Offs Fort Worth Texas

I got a car financed through Americredit in April. My payments were approx. $430 a month. They tacked on the amount left from my previous car to the balance of the current car. The payment day was bad for me because I was paying student loans and other bills.

I asked them if they could move my payment date to the 15th of every month. They said the closest they could move it was the 10th of every month. I told Americredit that would not work because I get paid on the 15th and 30th of every month (depending on what day the 15th & 30th ended on).

I then asked if I could get the payments reduced because I was paying student loans, rent, school, & other bills and I haven't had a raise with my job in over 2 years (at the time) which made it harder for me to afford the car.

One customer service rep was so ignorant, she thought I was making the story up. I was so upset that I wanted the car back because they were not willing to work with me because of my financial situation.

In November, another customer service rep contacted me asking me all of these questions about where was the car, who primarily drives it, etc. And I asked him was he asking these questions so they can repossess the car. He says no. About 3 days later, the car gets repossessed around 11:45pm on Monday November 13.

I told them if I got the raise at my job like I was supposed to, I would have been in a better financial situation to keep the car.

Now, I have no car and they sold the car for $8000 and charged me over $19,000 for it when I had it. Now they want a balance of $12,000 to pay them back. I believe they should be paying me for them just repossessing the car with no type of notification. Also, they are just plain liars.

I can't get around the way I would like to and public transportation can only take you but so far. Also, when I went to sell the car before any of this happened one of the guys at a dealership told me that the car was really only worth $7500 because it used to be a rental car and a load of back history showed up on a lemon check.

I got the car from Carfagno Chevrolet in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
