Overcharge, Vehicle did not run 2nd day

Buyer beware! Do not buy from this dealership! We drove 150 miles to look at a 1987 GMC Jimmy that my son, age 17, wanted for a winter vehicle. When we got there the salesman, Todd, told us there would be a 189.00 document fee. He and my son had talked many times on the phone and Todd had said the purchase price of the vehicle would be 800 the documentation fee, 989.00 total.

When we got there he said the total purchase price was $1088.00. When my son questioned him on this he showed a napkin that he had written on the conversation on stating " this is what we discussed." My son said no that is 99.00 over the amount we discussed. He said this is what I told you. Basically he was calling my son a liar. First Strike.

My son and Dad test drove the vehicle and it seemed to drive fine. My son decided he wanted the vehicle and as he was paying for it with his money, it was purchased. It was a cash deal. When filling out the paperwork, the title was brought to me to sign but we did not get the title then even though we paid cash. I asked why we were not getting the title He said we would get it in 5 to 7 days. As it turned out the notary was not even there. My son drove this vehicle home.

The next day he was going to drive it to work; started it and when he went to drive it, it would not go forward but it would drive in reverse. We tried to talk to the salesman but he dimissed us so we called the manager. This person treated us like we were pieces of crap and said they would not do anything about the vehicle that now would not function. We have had 2 mechanics look at the vehicle. Transmission fluid was very low upon checking, very small amount of engine coolant was present, not enough to function properly, only reason it didn't overheat while driving it 150 miles back home, was because it was -11 degrees on the day of purchase.

We can't check the engine oil: the dipstick is broken. The brake fluid was low which caused the left rear brake to lock up, due to a problem that was potentially caused by the lack of brake fluid. This problem is now going to have to be fixed before the vehicle can be moved anywhere. The fluids should have been topped off.

This left 2 minors, ages 17 and 15, in danger while driving on the interstate. Having been married to a salesman for 20 years, the companies he worked for were responsible, they at least topped off the fluids. I expect them to come get the vehicle, and bring my son back his money. Will update if Beardmore decides to do the right thing. Or if another problem arises.
