Brought in a 2001 Dodge Town & Country mini van because the engine light was on. When sitting with the service consultant "Paul" he said they would need to put the mini van on a diagnostic machine, to see what was wrong with it. Not once in this conversation did he say:
A) Now these machines are sometimes not accurate, you may need additional repairs to get your problem fixed.
B) There are "no guarrentees" here that if we decide that we know what your problem is, charge you to fix it, then your problem persists, you will have to pay more to finish the job.
Instead, the service consultant "Paul" made service recommendations, additional ones he felt the van needed. I told him I would consider them once he called and told me what the problem was.
When he called a told me the battery needed to be replaced, like a nice guy I approved the rest of his services (totaling $ 630.00). Picked up the vehicle at 6pm the night of the 13th of December and drove it home.
That night, the engine light came back on.
I had to take time out of my day to go back there with my woman, drop it off only to get called back from them saying it was an O2 sensor now and would cost an additional $ 300.00 to repair. Their excuse was, the disconnected battery erased all the codes and they didn't see it. These are the professionals at a dealership that are supposed to be fixing your vehicle? Or bill loaders.
Disatisfied with their blatant lack of professionalism I refused their services and told them to button the vehicle up and I would take it elsewhere to someone that guarrentees their work. They called me 6 times with every kind of deal to fix the vehicle, just not the deal I wanted which was a guarrentee. I brought it to a repair shop that GUARRENTEED me they would fix the issue, I paid them $ 335.00 and they did.
Since Jacksonville Jeep Chrysler Dodge in Jacksonville Florida seems only interested in loading charges onto existing work orders, please use this complaint as a guide on how to deal with their service department.
1) 1st, when you bring your vehicle in for a repair, do not let them repair anything else to your vehicle, except what you brought it in there for. Then take it home for a few days.
2) After they tell you that they need to put it on a diagnostic machine, ask them if they will guarrentee the repair. If they back peddle at all, take it somewhere else that will.
Personally, I hope you have a better experience there, because I for one will never purchase a vehicle or bring one in for repair again based upon the way they treated me.
