About the middle of May 1999 I called Chuck Manning Auto Repair in Santa Cruz, CA to make an appointment to have my car repaired. I told Mr. Manning what was wrong with my car and he said to bring it in. I had the car towed to his repair shop. Towing charges were $52.50. A couple days later I got a call from Mr. Manning saying the estimate was ready. I went in to his shop and he presented me with an estimate of $1100.00 to repair the car. We discussed the charges and I told him I'd call him the next day. I called him the next day and he said I'd better come in. I went to his shop where he told me he didn't want to work on my car because of my attitude. He also presented me with a bill for $108.00 for making the estimate and said I'd have to pay the bill and have my car towed at once or he'd charge me for storage. The next day I paid the $108.00 for the estimate and $50.00 for towing. So I ended up paying a total of $210.50 for nothing. The next day I found a mechanic who repaired my car for $50.00.
