Claimed $1400 needed to be paid to get a clear title on car already paid for. Ripoff

I purchased a 2006 Suzuki Reno for a "drive off" price which I wrote a check for the total.
They told me the paperwork could be signed in a few days "no problem, " and they would call me.
When I returned for the title, they told me they could not get a clear title on this vehicle, however, if I wanted to pay the additional $1400. Due on the trade-in payoff, I could then get it.

They tried to get me to take my choice of 2 other vehicles which were not comperable which I refused. Since I would not pay the $1400., they asked me to return the car. I did not return the car because I already paid them in full. They told me they would report the car as stolen.
