I used to live in Galveston, Texas. I was in transition moving to Atlanta, GA at the end of August. I have a 1998 Volkswagen, Beetle. I was driving along, when my car overheated. I took it to the first mechanic I saw, which was Car Care Center (Dean Aylousef-owner). I had to now rent a car and wait for my car to be ready before I could move! First, Dean told me it was my water pump. Fine, then he said that my car was still overheating and it was my head gasket, which is a major repair and that it will take at least another week. This guy was very hard to get a hold of. He has an assistant that sits at the desk, whose famous words are you have to talk to Dean and I don't know when he will be in. I have extended warranty and Dean was claiming that he had to wait for an inspector to approve of the repair.
Finally after a week of hearing the same words. I had my car towed to a Volkswagen Dealership. Sure enough they diagnosed it as being the water pump. They handed me a rusted, old, dirty part! The warranty company was not going to pay for the same part twice and recommended us to take it back to the mechanic for them to fix it! I attempted to call Dean and stated what the Dealership found and wanted to ask what he was going to do about it. Of course his assistant was the only one available and stated that we will call you back. Surprise! I never heard back after I called 3-4 times. I had no choice but to pay out of my pocket! Dean either replaced it with a old used one that did not work or never changed it at all!!! I took it back to him and he claimed it was not his part. I'm suing him to attempt to get my money back! If nobody takes action, then he will take advantage of others!
