Complaint / Review
Carsponsorships
Ripoff, Total scam, Liars, Fraudulent and Misleading

I submitted an application to Carsponsorships, not expecting to get sponsored, but I figured "What do I have to lose?" Ha.

In my application I explained very explicitly that the car I wanted sponsored was a 1967 Chevrolet Impala that Did Not run. I specified I was looking for sponsorships that could contribute to getting my car running again. I also stated that the car was not even in the same state as I am.

To my surprise I was given a sponsorship. I should have known something was fishy but it seemed legitimate. I read Everything and found nothing strange.

Until they had taken my money and I found out my "sponsorship" including ridiculous decals and discounts on batwing doors. They even told me,
"Also, because you only filled out our fast app, our sponsors require some additional questions about you and your future car plans."
Where I further explained my situation.

Telling me that I was "chosen" by sponsors, they emailed me: "We are excited to tell you that your Pimp You Ride' Sponsorship consists of 6 product sponsorships from 6 different companies (Blaupunkt USA, Decalkits.com, Max It Out Video, StreetFX, R-Blox, Tsunami Audio) plus a $500 cash contingency sponsorship from CarSponsorships.com. The $500 is for Hot Import Nights."

What is a broken down 1967 Chevy going to do at Hot Import Nights? Not one of these companies has any use for me or my car. I contacted most of these companies and they all referred me back to Carsponsorships except one.

"The qualification process does not necessitate a finished vehicle. The offer is open to you at any time and we are not asking that you participate with the sponsorship at once. We are giving you the opportunity to make your vehicle even better when it gets to the point of installing the accent lighting. Since you don't see your car being a benefit for our company at anytime, then I will make sure that Carsponsorships.com will withdraw the opportunity for you to get the Street FX sponsorship. I am copying Justin from Carsponsorships on this message so that he will withdraw the approval.

Thank you,
Tyson Fillenworth
Street FX"

My question to them was what made them chose my car to sponsor. Obviously, they didn't. As I've read in other complaints, everyone who applies gets a sponsorship. It is quite clear they don't read their applications.

I wish I had known about this website back then. This was January. I didn't do anything else, because I wasn't sure what to do. I would like my money back, but it's probably too late.

Whatever you do, do not fall for this.

I wouldn't have minded paying for something useful, but they are clearly and completely running a fraudulent business and I'm surprised that reputable companies like Blaupunkt and XM Radio have anything to do with them.

Maybe if we put pressure on these companies to stop their sponsorships then Carsponsorships.com will stop ripping people off.
