Bill Heard Chevrolet Nashville
Ripoff Have had two cars since February and just now recieved tags

My name is Kim and my husband and I went into Bill Heard in February. We were trading in a 1996 Ford Taurus for a cheap, dependable car. The Taurus was a gift from my mother in law that was paid off, and had a clear title. To start off with being honest, our credit is terrible, but we thought we would give it a try because it had alot of milage on it.

The salesman we had had been an employee with Bill Heard for a week. But my husband and I give everyone achance so we went with it. We looked at several cars and of course, the salesman was pushing for the more expensive ones. I told him over and over that our credit was terrible so we needed a cheap car, if financing was available at all. Of all of the cars we looked at we had found a 2004 Ford Sentra with great mileage and I have a fear of bigger cars so this was perfect. He went in to try to work the financing. He came back out and told us the only way we could get a car is if we picked a 2006 with low mileage. That was understandable so we proceeded to look again.

The salesman pointed at a 2005 Nissan Altima, I said absolutely not! For one it was too big, and two it was a $30,000 car. We proceeded to look and founda Kia that was a 2006 model with low mileage and substancially cheaper. The salesman came out again and said it had to be the Altima. I told him we could not afford it and with my past experiences they were going to have us return it in a month anyway. As everyone knows if they have ever dealt with Bill Heard before, this is the way they do business. They will tell you that you can afford it, that you are already financed and not to worry, as well as calling you in 3-4 weeks to tell you to bring it back because they can not finance you.

We left with the Altima and were very upset about it. Due to our credit, the payments were close to $500.00 a month. We had the car for about a month and a half and sure enough they called. They said that the finance company did not do a 72 month loan they only had a 60 month and our income didn't match with the price of the Altima. DUH! I told them that when they were putting us in it. I picked out a 2005 Cavalier and I was very happy because that is what I wanted in the first place.

We went through 2 temp tags, as well as drove on a dealer tag for 2 months. They made us put $1000.00 down for the Altima. When they put us in the Cavalier it had no money down so we asked for our check back because we did a hold check form on that for the Altima because we did not have $1000.00 at the time. When we got the Cavalir we demanded our check back. They said they could not locate our file for the Altima but not to worry they would shred the check.

Just since we have had the Cavalier, the down payment check for the Altima has been deposited to the bank by Bill Heard 32 times. The last time they ran it through was about 2 weeks ago. We have called and been up there so many times I can't even count. Because of all of this they made our first car payment which even then wasn't close to covering the fees they charged from the bank. Some time went by and we thought it was finally over, so we thought!

We recieved a call from an attorney for a collection agency. He said we owed them $1500.00 dollars for the down payment check!

WHAT? We went up there and talked to some guy, I can't even remember their names anymore we have spoke to so many people. He said he would call back but we have not heard from him since, nor the collection agency.

We have spoke to an attorney who is ready and able to tackle this. The problem with Bill Heard Chevy is when problems arise, you call to speak with the person you dealt with who knows the situation but they are not longer there. So when you tell the new person your whole situation again, the same thing happens again because that person is not longer there either.

We have gone through a total of 11 different people and that is an approximate number and the problem is still going. They would make a whole lot more sales and more happy customers if they did the proper screening process on new employees, teach them the right way to sell and do things to keep the employees there. Another key point to this not happening is to have the employees TAKE NOTES. If a customer calls with a problem they should take notes so they can fix it, not hand it over to the next guy.

They would have more repeat customers and more revenue if they learned some problem solving skills. I do not believe it has anything to do with the salesman or some finance people. One of the people we went to with this problem was a finance manager who was trying very hard to help us. When we went back he was no longer there either. It turns out that he ended up being the finance guy at another car lot, we were looking at buying a truck for my husband.

We got my husband a truck there and we had never been treated so well by a car dealership ever. We were actually treated like people. There is truly good car dealerships around who will treat you right, Bill Heard unfortunatly NOT one of them.

I would not recommend Bill Heard to anyone due to the fact that they do not have their crap together. It is sad.
